AWARD FOR COMMUNITY SPIRIT
On 25 August 2006, our Principal Solicitor Director, Antonella Sanderson, was honoured to receive the first Women with Altitude Award for Community Spirit. Presented by the Honourable Jackie Kelly MP, during the first Women with Altitude Ball, the Award criteria included:
-
“We are looking for things such as volunteer work, Projects that nominees have been involved with in the community, Fund raising and any sort of what would be considered ‘giving back’”
-
“Finalists should be of solid character and demonstrate commitment to their community work, volunteering or fund raising”
Nominated by her happy clients, Antonella said it was an honour to be considered as a finalist for the award, and a privilege to win the Award.
“The legal profession, and in particular Family Lawyers, have been greatly criticised of late, especially with the commencement of the amendments to the parenting provisions of the Family Law Act on 1 July 2006. I am humbled by the nominations made by my clients, expressing their views of how I have conducted myself, including my volunteer work. I love my work, I can’t imagine doing anything else each day – I’m overwhelmed that it makes such a difference to the people I come into contact with.”
