Our very own Family Law Matters Director & Principal Solicitor, Antonella Sanderson made her national radio debut this month on Triple J’s The Hook Up program, and within two weeks was invited back to do it all again! Listen to the podcasts from Sunday 10 September here and Sunday 24 September here. Antonella shared guidance and insights to support divorcees in their 20’s, and help young people understand the differences between marriages and de facto relationships.
With around 10% of married Australians seeking a divorce in their 20’s* it’s a considerable issue within the community. It can be a lonely journey for those experiencing such a significant relationship crisis so early on in their adult life.
Young people are more likely to live together before getting married and with the average age of first time marriages increasing**, and de facto relationship rates in the young population bracket increasing***, it is important for young people to know how the law impacts on their relationship status.
Antonella was thrilled to have been given the opportunity to share knowledge with a national audience. She said;
“There is so much confusion about family law rights in the community – people speak to their friends and hear about the experiences of others, and presume that their rights are the same. That’s not the case – much of our legislation around parenting and financial cases depends on the individual circumstances of the couple. It was wonderful to be able to get that information out there and help young people understand the importance of getting the right advice.”
“Sometimes getting the right advice is difficult for young people, and with so much information out there on the internet it can be overwhelming. At Family Law Matters we have introduced an artificial intelligence platform on our website that allows people to receive instant help anywhere, at anytime and it’s free. By following the prompts to complete the questionnaire you receive a personalised information pack providing tailored guidance. The technology gives you the ability to engage with our law firm in a private and convenient way, whilst feeling confident about the specialised family law expertise we have.”
The free online separation pathway questionnaire can be accessed here or by visiting www.familylawmatters.com.au
