Where Do I Start?

Separation Where Do I StartSeparation and contacting a Family Lawyer for the first time can be a scary step to take. It’s something most of us never really want to do. Many people have not come into contact with lawyers or the legal system, perhaps only when purchasing their home. In our experience, most clients leave their initial consultation feeling reassured and even relieved as they have been empowered with insights specific to their situation.

Your initial consultation is one of the most important services we offer. It gives you a chance to share your story to date and your needs, interests and concerns for the future. At this same meeting we provide you with advice about your legal rights and responsibilities. We also discuss the various options that are available for you to resolve your matter. The advice you receive from our Family Law Specialists is strategic, personalised and valuable.

At the end of your initial consultation you will receive an information package that contains detailed documentation about our team, cost estimates as well as general information for you to peruse. If you wish to proceed with your matter we will also explain next steps.

Not all clients decide to pursue immediate action and this is okay. In some cases, the advice we give may be all the help you need to negotiate your own separation settlement. The purpose of your initial consultation is to provide you with a clear road map of your options so you can make a decision on what is best for you and your family.

Alternatively, you can call 1300 FAM LAW or 02 9523 3007 to find out if an Initial Consultation is right for you.
